3.PAR.3.2 worksheets: multiplication and division facts with strategies

The standard

Represent single digit multiplication and division facts using a variety of strategies. Explain the relationship between multiplication and division.

Element 3.PAR.3.2 of Georgia's K-12 Mathematics Standards (2021, effective SY2023-24), in the Patterning & Algebraic Reasoning strand. It sits under standard 3.PAR.3: Use part-whole strategies to solve real-life, mathematical problems involving multiplication and division with whole numbers within 100.

What students practice

In the Division packet, students share or group with dots, divide arrays by rows and by columns, jump on a number line, break off a 5s fact, write fact families, find missing factors, and finish with 20 single-digit facts and the zero and one rules, each tied back to a multiplication fact. In Space Math Adventure, a facts page uses a fact students know to find one they are not sure of.

Where to find it

  • p. 3Share or Group?. Draw or circle the dots, then write the answer.
  • p. 4Arrays: Rows and Columns. Divide the squares by the rows, then by the columns.
  • p. 5Jumps on a Number Line. Jump from 0 to the circled number, then count your jumps.
  • p. 6Break Apart Big Facts. Break off a 5s fact you know, then add the two answers.
  • p. 7Fact Families. Use the same three numbers to write the other three facts.
  • p. 8Missing Factor. Find the missing factor that makes each fact true.
  • p. 9Division Facts. Think of the multiplication fact that matches, then write the quotient.
  • p. 10Zero and One. Use the zero and one rules to find each quotient.
  • p. 14Mixed Review. Read the sign on each problem first, then solve.

Think: 8 × 6 is 8 × 5 = 40, plus one more group of 8, so 48.
