3.NR.1.2 worksheets: compare numbers to 10,000 with >, <, and =

The standard

Use place value reasoning to compare multi-digit numbers up to 10,000, using >, =, and < symbols to record the results of comparisons.

Element 3.NR.1.2 of Georgia's K-12 Mathematics Standards (2021, effective SY2023-24), in the Numerical Reasoning strand. It sits under standard 3.NR.1: Use place value reasoning to represent, read, write, and compare numerical values up to 10,000 and round whole numbers up to 1,000.

What students practice

Two pages compare numbers, first to 1,000 and then to 10,000, by starting at the biggest place and moving right until the digits differ. An = item always pairs a number with its own expanded form, so equal means the same value written two ways.
