Georgia Grade 4 math, Geometric & Spatial Reasoning

4.GSR.7.1 worksheets: recognize, classify, and draw right, acute, and obtuse angles

Practice identifying endpoints, comparing with a known right angle, and drawing angles on dots.

The standard

Recognize angles as geometric shapes formed when two rays share a common endpoint. Draw right, acute, and obtuse angles based on the relationship of the angle measure to 90 degrees.

Element 4.GSR.7.1 of Georgia's K-12 Mathematics Standards (2021, effective SY2023-24), in the Geometric & Spatial Reasoning strand. It sits under standard 4.GSR.7: Investigate the concepts of angles and angle measurement to estimate and measure angles.

What students practice

Identify the two rays and the shared endpoint, compare eight angles with a printed known right angle, and draw right, acute, and obtuse angles on dot grids. Students also classify angles measured with their own protractor. Angle Code and Mixed Review revisit these skills.

  • p. 3Two Rays, One Endpoint. Decide which figures are angles, then find each vertex.
  • p. 4Right, Acute, or Obtuse. Compare each angle with the known right angle, then circle its name.
  • p. 5Draw Angles. Draw a second ray from the dot to make each angle, then answer the questions.
  • p. 11Use Your Own Protractor. Use your protractor, write each measure with the degree symbol, then circle its name.
  • p. 13Angle Code. Answer each question, writing measures with the degree symbol, then spell the word.
  • p. 14Mixed Review. Solve each problem, writing angle measures with the degree symbol.
