3.GSR.6.2 worksheets: classify quadrilaterals by their properties

The standard

Classify, compare, and contrast polygons, with a focus on quadrilaterals, based on properties. Analyze specific 3-dimensional figures to identify and describe quadrilaterals as faces of these figures.

Element 3.GSR.6.2 of Georgia's K-12 Mathematics Standards (2021, effective SY2023-24), in the Geometric & Spatial Reasoning strand. It sits under standard 3.GSR.6: Identify the attributes of polygons, including parallel segments, perpendicular segments, right angles, and symmetry.

What students practice

Students name corners as acute, right, or obtuse against a square corner, name quadrilaterals from their side and angle marks, check properties in a table, and trace the faces of solid shapes. Each naming item has exactly one name that fits, and no page asks for a hierarchy of shapes.

Pages 8 to 11 and 14 of 26 · $4

  • p. 8Acute, Right, or Obtuse?. Compare the corner with the curve to a square corner, then circle its name.
  • p. 9Name the Quadrilateral. Use the marks and the sides to circle the name of each quadrilateral.
  • p. 10Check the Properties. Put a check in each box that is true for the shape in that row.
  • p. 11Faces of Solid Shapes. Trace the striped face in your mind, then circle the shape it makes.
  • p. 14Mixed Review. Read each problem, then solve.
Strategy Spotlight from Shapes, page 8

Think: smaller than a square corner is acute; bigger is obtuse.
